On joining the Junior Coaching scheme, each player is required to demonstrate that they are willing to learn the basics of both Snooker and Billiards.
To do this, John has developed a Basic Cue Sports Programme, that leads to each player having to demonstrate various aspects of the game successfully in order to pass and recieve a certificate.
This incorporates knowledge and ability to pot straight balls, using stun, screw and side; attempt long pots across the table; and play the 4 basic half ball in-off practice shots at Billiards.
Each player will learn these skills during the coaching period, over the initial 6 months that they begin playing, before attempting a series of shots in a 1 on 1 practical examination. A total of 121 shots are played, and players can gain the following pass levels.
70% - GOLD PASS
55% - SILVER PASS
40% - BRONZE PASS
